• Born August 25th, 1970
• Grew up in Teaneck, NJ
• Went on to attend college at the University of Pennsylvania, where he majored in Systems Engineering 
• One of only 5 Penn alumni to play in Major League baseball since 1951, and the first African-American Ivy League graduate to play in the Majors
• Played in the Majors during 1996-2004 for the Chicago Cubs, Philadelphia Phillies, and the Texas Rangers
• Placed 2nd in the National League in 1999, hitting 11 homers and batting .325
• Finished his career in the Major League with 1,100 hits and a .277 career batting average
• Published his first book “The Game From Where I Stand” in 2010
• Joined ESPN in 2010 as a baseball color analyst, where he appeared on Wednesday Night Baseball, contributed to Baseball Tonight, ESPN Radio, ESPN.com & ESPN The Magazine 
• Hired by NBC Sports Chicago in 2018, after being laid off by ESPN the previous year, ESPN later rehired him in 2019
• Currently teaching at the University Of Connecticut Neag School of Education
