- Regarded as one of the best free safeties to ever play the game.
- Only 1 of 26 players of all time to have 50 or more interceptions.
- In 1988 won the “Whizzer White”….. NFL Man of the Year Award.
- NFL 1980’s All-Decade Team.
- Kansas City Chiefs Hall of Famer.
